Andrew Jacobson

Andrew Jacobson is a seasoned finance executive with nearly 25 years of leadership experience in both the public and private sectors, including more than a decade dedicated to advancing higher education in New Mexico. He currently serves as Associate Vice President of Finance and Budget at Central New Mexico Community College, where he oversees the annual operating and capital budget, leads financial forecasting, and directs capital project funding efforts across multiple campuses.

Previously, Andrew held senior leadership roles with the State of New Mexico, including Deputy Cabinet Secretary and Chief Financial Officer at the Higher Education Department, where he advised the Governor’s Office on higher education policy initiatives, co-authored statewide funding formula recommendations, and aided in managing the agency. He also served as Deputy Cabinet Secretary at the Department of Finance & Administration, representing the Governor and Cabinet Secretary in financial policy matters and serving on numerous key financial boards and commissions. The early part of his career began in Chicago, where he gained valuable experience in financial analysis and investment with Bank of America and Ritchie Capital Management.

Andrew earned his MBA from the University of New Mexico and graduated with a BA in Business Administration/Finance from Alma College (Michigan). He lives in Albuquerque with his wife Monique, their three sons, and two dogs. When not watching his sons play music, baseball, or tennis, he enjoys riding Peloton and following college and professional sports – go Lobos!
